To take full advantage of the Reserve we suggest:

  • Liquor and river: Deadly Combination:.
  • Each 50mts. There is a dumpster. Thank you!
  • Thank you for not scratching the rocks. At the reception we have pencil and paper for those who want to scratch something.
  • Listen to the concert naturally created for you and your neighbor ... leave the boom box at home.
  • While it may seem as calm as a swimming pool, the river flows very strong. It is always prudent to be near your children.
  • To walk at night a flashlight is a must.
  • If you bring candy is advisable to keep them in an airtight box... otherwise you will have many animals around you.
  • For the welfare of all visitors, leave your pet at home. They are not allowed in the Reserve.
  • It is not allowed to cook or make campfires inside the reserve.

    Important Observations
  • We do not allow pets (dogs, cats, etc.).
  • We do not sell, nor allow the consumption of liquor, (River and Liquor deadly combination).
  • Barbecues and campfires, can only take place in the camping area.
  • The Reserve is not responsible for valuables, (Camera, cellular, ipod, computer, etc..) left in the rooms; if you wish, we can keep them at the reception.
  • Certain activities are not allowed in the Reserve (Extreme sports, competitions, bonfires, concerts, etc...), other than those established by the reservation and those are only allowed with guidelines approved by the reserve.
  • Methods of payment: In the reserve we receive only cash, NO checks , NO credit cards. There are no possibilities of making electronic transactions. The closest ATM is 30 minutes away and not always in service.
  • Money Refunds will only be made (100%) for cancellations or modification of a reservation before 10 working days. 70% within 5 working days prior to the beginning of the reservation and 25% during the 5 working days prior beginning of the reservation. There is the the possibility of postponing the reserve within a maximum period of 6 months.

  • • Slippers or sandals
  • • Tennis shoes for walking (that can get wet)
  • • Insect repellent and sun block lotion.
  • • At night it is cold, we recommend a cotton sweater

  • Is there drinking water in reserve or should I bring my own water to drink?: Clean water is abundant in the Reserve, however in the restaurant you can buy bottled water.
  • Are there sociopolitical dangers of any kind in the region?: The Magdalena Medio region is currently safe, there are a checkpoint of the National Army of Colombia at the entrance of The Reserve, on the Medellin-Bogota Highway.
  • What is the status of access roads to Rio Claro?: The Medellin-Bogota highway is in very good condition, and additionally is permanently guarded by the Army. The road is open.
